[edit] September 2007

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Dieffenbachia. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 22:28, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Passenger Pigeon, you will be blocked from editing. Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 22:29, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Dieffenbachia, you will be blocked from editing. Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 22:31, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism question

As per your question, you keep making assertions that Passenger Pigeon is not extinct and Dieffenbachia is. Quite the opposite. Purposely entering inaccuracies after being warned is considered vandalism. If you believe to be correct, please discuss it in the article's Talk page providing reliable sources to support your assertion, and to gather consensus. Happy wiking! Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 23:02, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Dieffenbachia. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 09:52, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Dieffenbachia, you will be blocked from editing. Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 11:00, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Block

You have been temporarily blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Please see WP:BRD. If your edits are reverted with the request to supply references for your text it is inappropriate to re-revert (especially claiming "vandalism", when the consensus is cited and your version is not). Please discuss your proposed changes on the article talkpage. LessHeard vanU 22:54, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Block

How am I supposed to discuss the changes on the discussion page when I am blocked? 172.129.240.83 23:04, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

You cannot. Please feel free to discuss your changes once your block expires. Kuru talk 23:06, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Blocking admin unblocked.

Request handled by:Wknight94 (talk) 00:27, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Is there any way to get the length of this block reduced? I will be more careful going foward. Thanks! 172.129.240.83 23:13, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm simply seeing some edits which are farcical enough to be considered vandalism and no explanation of your activities despite many warnings, so I'm not comfortable unblocking you myself. I've left a note on the blocking admin's talk page. Kuru talk 23:36, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

What's wrong with giving me another chance? If I break the rules again, just re-block me. 172.129.240.83 23:45, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Two questions; whose "mistake", and, in what way? I would comment that blocks are supposed to be preventative, that is that they stop disruption. There is little point in unblocking you on the premise you are reblocked for further violation - I (on behalf of the community) do not want further violations! You will have a further chance once the block expires... I will watch this page for your responses. LessHeard vanU 23:56, 22 September 2007 (UT
I made the mistake: I believed that the plant in the article that i was accused of vandalizing was extinct. If blocks are supposed to be preventative and not punitive, what is the point if leaving me blocked if the bad edits stop? 172.129.240.83 00:00, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
(Grin!) I might be tempted to say that the bad edits stopped because you are blocked... but okay - I will unblock. Please try not to get into edit/revert wars. If people ask for references please supply them and always try to discuss things first. Cheers. LessHeard vanU 00:09, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Done. Happy editing. LessHeard vanU 00:10, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
