"American Idol" judge Simon Cowell's known for quashing dreams and ruining people's lives -- not saving them! But this past week, the king of reality TV helped save one woman from a deadly disease.

During a recent audition episode of Cowell's Brit series, "The X Factor," Simon was listening to 46-year-old warbler Jacqui Gray and noticed something strange in her voice.

"It sounds as if you have someone else in there, like you were choking on something," said Cowell, who advised Gray to go to the doctor. She did, and was diagnosed with the potentially fatal lung disease, bronchiectasis.

Gray credits Cowell and co-host Sharon Osbourne with saving her life. "If I had not got it seen to, it could have killed me," she told Brit tabloid, The Mirror.

18. I think Simon is awesome - he could be the first person to tell some of these contestants the truth about their 'talent'! Somebody has to serve them some reality, these horrible singers have been told they're good by their friends & family when they really STINK! Bravo to Simon for being honest, like him or not.

14 - If he ever tells her she looks fat in ANYTHING she puts on, he'd be lying. She's a coat hanger that needs a sammich in the worst way. As a couple, they don't match. She's just not what I picture him thinking of as "hot". Guess I'm wrong. Obviously.

Rump rockin' Kim Kardasshian was spotted at nearly half a dozen clubs and restaurants in Los Angeles yesterday, but it was outside of Mr. Chow where things got a little unrumpfortable.

As The Tush was about to head over to Les Deux, a TMZ photog asked her, "What celebrities would you like to see in a sex tape?" This was a little awkward for the stylish Miss K, as she has her own sex tape, "Kim K. Superstar." Amazingly, Kim gives the thoughtful response: "Jennifer Lopez."

The Atlanta Journal Constitution has obtained court documents that indicate Michael Vick tested positive for marijuana on September 13, and will now face more strict release conditions from a federal court judge.

In court documents filed today, the judge ordered Vick to submit to any method of testing, "for determining whether the defendant is using a prohibited substance." The judge also ordered Vick to stay in his Virginia home -- with electronic monitoring -- every day from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. And he has to pay for the service! No Hyde for him! Hannah Primrose, Countess of Rosebery was the daughter of Baron Mayer de Rothschild and his wife Juliana, née Cohen. On the death of her father in 1874 she became the richest woman in Britain. Her husband, the 5th Earl of Rosebery, was, during the final quarter of the nineteenth century, one of the most celebrated figures in Britain, an influential millionaire and politician, whose charm, wit, charisma and public popularity gave him such standing that he "almost eclipsed royalty". Her marriage into the aristocracy, while controversial at the time, gave her the social cachet in an anti-Semitic society that her vast fortune could not. She subsequently became a political hostess and philanthropist. Her charitable work was principally in the sphere of public health and causes associated with the welfare of working class Jewish women living in the poorer districts of London. Having firmly assisted and supported her husband on his path to political greatness, she suddenly died in 1890, aged 39, leaving him to achieve, bewildered and without her support, the political destiny which she had plotted alone. Wilson's Snipe (Gallinago delicata) is a small, stocky shorebird common to Canada and the northern United States. In appearance the bird is similar to the Common Snipe, which can be found in northern Europe and Russia. Normally shy, the bird prefers to remain hidden in marshy grasses and watered fields, probing for worms and other invertebrates with its sensitive beak. In spring and early summer the Snipe is heard and seen more frequently as male birds search for mates and pairs establish nesting locations.
