Charles V, king of Spain in 1516 to 1556, was born in Ghent, Belgium. He was the last Holy Roman Emperor to be crowned by the Pope on Feburary the 24th.

Pedro Cabral in 1460 to 1520 Portuguese navigator, departed to India. He left Lisbon with 13 ships headed for India and was blown off course in March the 9.

Battle at Novara: King Louis XII beat duke Ludovico Sforza (Il Sforza del Destino) on April the 9th.
