THE THIRD BATTLE OF YPRES (PASSCHENDAELE) 31 JULY - 10 NOVEMBER 1917
Australian troops watching British soldiers manning an anti-aircraft gun at Morbecque.
Location : Western Front: Western Front (France), Nord Region (France) Morbecque
Comment : this is a 13 pounder 9 cwt gun mounted on a lorry. The recuperator, above the barrel, has the armoured box-shaped oil reservoir at the front end, developed to extend the life of the 18 pounder's recuperator springs.
It is part of the same shoot as Image:AAGunMorbecque29August1917-2.jpeg
