[edit] Dispute Resolution
Welcome to Wikipedia! :) I'm contacting you about the article you created at Wikipedia talk:Requests for mediation/Guitar History -- Cyrus just to let you know that the proper steps for requests for mediation are rather complicated and the one you seem to have initiated was not properly submitted. Midway down the requests for mediation page, you see a block that says To file a request:. You put the title of the article into that block, after the text that reads "Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/", and it will open a properly titled document for you. It will be filled with text to guide you in filling it out, but even so can be difficult to follow if you aren't used to Wikipedia's shorthand. There is a sample with detailed instructions that might help you figure out any difficult steps.
Looking at the situation, though, I'd like to suggest that requests for mediation may be a more formal procedure than you need at this point. Since the conversation involves only two people, you may find it simpler to request a third opinion. (The "resolving disputes policy" describes various options, including that one.) Requesting a third opinion is much simpler and may resolve your difficulties.
I'd also like to note that you do not seem to be signing your comments at Talk:Guitar. You can sign them easily by typing four tildes at the end of your comment (like so: --~~~~). But note that when filling a request for a third opinion, you do not sign your comment with your name, but with five tildes (~~~~~) to help preserve impartiality of the person who responds. :) Good luck whichever avenue you choose to pursue. --Moonriddengirl 17:33, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
