[edit] Disambiguation Link at University of Pennsylvania

Hi,

I just wanted to mention that the University of Pennsylvania article is an article about the University, not a University article. We try to help readers find useful information as easily as possible, and Wikipedia:Disambiguation helps us do that. The disambiguation link doesn't promote or degrade Pennsylvania State University, but acknowledges that it does exist and may be what a reader was searching for. Hope this helps, GChriss <always listening><c> 15:08, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I concur. Wiki isn't supposed to be an ad, so it's okay (and explicitly suggested) to list to unrelated but easily-confused pages. The target audience of Wikipedia is "everyone", not just "educated folks in the eastern US". It's easy to wind up at the UPenn page when looking for "um, that uniersity with 'pennsylvania in its name'" but actually mean Penn State. DMacks 16:10, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

And vice versa, as a courtesy for readers. We have a rather large global audience. Thanks, GChriss <always listening><c> 16:33, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
