This is of course an ongoing issue so more information is continually surfacing, but the facts in the section I added are well established. I provided a reference to both the letter in which Essjay used his purported degrees and experience, and the article in The New Yorker which Essjay again used his purported degrees and experience. The article in The New Yorker which I referenced also contains an editor's note at the bottom where they explain that Essjay is a 24 year old with no degrees or teaching experience.* Since The New Yorker is a very reputable magazine, that should be reference enough. More can be provided if necessary. However, the page on which Essjay previously stated his certifications and experience has been edited by him to remove the offending information, so no reference to that could possibly be provided. The last sentence could easily be edited to remove any POV issues.

  • Additionally, on Essjays own Wikipedia profile, he now states that he is indeed a 24 year old with no degrees or teaching experience.
