The entire point of the 'Association football' terminology was to remove the clumsiness inherent in '(soccer)', Association football (soccer) is not just not what the three year discussion achieved but is also the very worst of both worlds. You have a reference that has Association football (soccer)? --Falcadore (talk) 06:19, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- No, it was intended to be a catch all phrase. The argument began as US vs World, the same points apply for Australia vs World. The discussion has been going of for three years, the chance of a new viewpoint appearing that has not previously been considered is pretty slim. --Falcadore (talk) 06:28, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

- Because it is such an impassioned debate is why its dragged on so long. However, Wikipedia is not Australian, is not a reflection of Australia, and implications of nationality are a big part of why the debate was derailed into heated flame wars for so long. --Falcadore (talk) 06:35, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 06:43, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

- Talk:Association football#Ready to move? Top of this page, plus approx 14/15 archived pages of slanging preceding it if you want to wade through it. However, going by your previous statements I don't expect you to accept this. --Falcadore (talk) 06:49, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
