Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. For one thing, if you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place helpme before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! [edit] Hakim Warrick

Thanks for your contributions to Hakim Warrick. I wanted to note one thing, though: his nickname really is "Helicopter" and "Hak" -- here are some links to back that up.[1][2][3][4] Let me know where you stand on this. Chengwes 05:15, 2 September 2007 (UTC) Thanks - although not much point telling me exclusively when you can just as easily cite it in the article in question... --124.168.129.32 08:40, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikilinked dates

Hello. I'm writing about your recent edit to Tim Hardaway. I noticed that you removed the Wikilinks from several dates, and I wanted to explain their purpose.

An editor or reader who registers can select a date display preference (such as MMMM dd, yyyy or dd MMMM yyyy)). When a date is Wikilinked, such as July 20, 1969 or 20 July 1969, Wikipedia automatically displays the date according to the reader's preference. Thanks. — Malik Shabazz (Talk | contribs) 07:08, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
