The Battle of Hastings did, indeed, take place on Senlac Hill, but this was so named after the battle. It was originally called Santlache.

Senlac, roughly translated from the French, meaning Lake of Blood.

does anyone know if it is correct that the late middle ages came before the early middle ages as seems to be what is said in the beginning of this article?
