I have no idea when I can omit suffixes of Japanese names. I replaced 'peak of' with 'mt.' because I think the former is not common, but the distinction between 山 and 岳 was lost. I commented out the mention of Ainu language, because all mountains of Hokkaido may be derived from Ainu language except Taisetsu. Pitan 14:00, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
