...In That Quiet Earth' is an instrumental piece from English progressive rock band Genesis' 1977 album, Wind & Wuthering. The piece is preceded by 'Unquiet Slumbers for the Sleepers..., also an instrumental. Together, they take their name from the final sentence of Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë:

"I lingered round them, under that benign sky: watched the moths fluttering among the heath and harebells, listened to the soft wind breathing through the grass, and wondered how any one could ever imagine unquiet slumbers for the sleepers in that quiet earth."

...In That Quiet Earth' also directly segues into the ballad "Afterglow," the final piece on the album. In 1978, the song was performed as part of a medley, preceded by "The Cinema Show" and followed by "Afterglow." It was also featured on Genesis' 3-disc compilation album Platinum Collection in a remixed version by Nick Davis (also followed by "Afterglow"). It has not appeared on any of Genesis' live albums to date, however it has appeared on several of Steve Hackett's solo live albums.
