[edit] Pronunciation?

It is often understood that the letter C with a birdie over it is pronounced as "ch" in english; that is, its a "soft" C. This begs the question: what's the ch in the name signify? Is this pronounced in english as "chachtice" ?? linas 13:48, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Something like /ʧʌxťice/ -- i am not as familiar with IPA as I should be (I am not sure what is used for our consonant ť in IPA). On your talk page you write that "Linas is a common given name among people of Lithuanian descent". In case you can read Russian alphabet it is: Чахтьице. --Kompik 14:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
I have copied the pronunciation from the article Čachtice Castle(IPA: tʃaxtjɪt͡se). Somebody familiar with IPA schould check it (and correct, if necessary. --Kompik 15:31, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
