Ólafur Stefánsson (born July 3, 1973 in Reykjavík, Iceland) is an Icelandic handball player who currently plays for BM Ciudad Real of the Spanish Liga ASOBAL. His demarcation is right winger.

He started in the Reykjavík sports club Valur and became Icelandic champion with that team in the 1993/1994 season. In 1995 he was selected for the Icelandic national handball team to take part in the world championships which were held in Iceland. From Valur he went as a professional player to Germany playing with LTV Wuppertal. Then he transferred to SC Magdeburg.

In 2003 he transferred from SC Magdeburg to Ciudad Real.

He was voted Sports Personality of the Year in Iceland for 2002 & 2003.
