Île Illiec
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This island off the north Brittany coast of France which was owned by the famous American Aviator Charles Lindbergh during his stay in Europe between 1936 and 1939.
Following the kidnapping and murder of his son in the 1930’s the famous aviator purchased the ultimate retreat, the four-acre French island Île Illiec for $16,000 in an isolated archipelago off the coast off the coast of Brittany.
To make the house even more private he used strategic planting of cypress and pine tree to guarantee privacy even from passing fishermen.
The island, still private, is now owned by the Heidsieck Champagne family.
