Çandarlı family is one of the most important political powerhouses of the early Ottoman history. One can even claim that their end came not because of their alleged alliance with the Eastern Empire but because of their increasing prestige and power which may reach to a degree where the ultimate rule of Sultan is questioned and a more European style feudal nobility is established, like the Ancient Regime of France.
