Åslaug Marie Haga (born October 21, 1959 in Nes, Akershus) is a Norwegian politician. She has been the leader of the Center Party (Senterpartiet) since 2003. She served as Minister for Cultural Affairs in 1999–2000. Following the success of the Red-Green Coalition in the 2005 parliamentary elections, Haga succeeded Erna Solberg as Minister for Local Municipalities and Regional Development in the second cabinet Stoltenberg. In September 2007, she became minister of petroleum and energy, succeeding Odd Roger Enoksen, and leaving the regional department to Magnhild Meltveit Kleppa.
Åslaug Haga has, on behalf of the Center Party, made it clear that it is not in their interest to begin talks regarding European Union membership as long as they are part of government.[citation needed]
