Álftanes is a low-lying peninsula which extrudes from the eastern part of Reykjanes, located in Iceland's Greater Reykjavík Area. Álftanes has a population of 2,416 as of April 1, 2008 census.
The village of Álftanes is located on Álftanes, as is the residence of the President of Iceland, Bessastaðir.
