[edit] Song Basis

The article states: "The song refers to Powderfinger's lead singer Bernard Fanning missing his brother who had passed away a year prior to the song's release." Is there any verification for this? The lyrics do not seem to support the statement.--Jeffro77 13:49, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, no they don't...I'll take a look and see if I can dish anything up, but feel free to add a {{fact}} to it. Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 06:37, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
I put that down. I was sure I added the ref, though. I guess not. I'll find the info about it. --lincalinca 06:46, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Just on some info I found here, it seems this influence was relating to "Since You've Been Gone" and not this song. The smh seems to agree. Now I'm wondering where I first read that info. I'm certain it was talking about "On My Mind", but my original source could well have been wrong. Wait, I've found one here that comments on it, though it's not supporting the claim:

It's supposedly written about lead singer Bernard Fanning's brother who passed away over a year ago. The lyrics really don't point to it being written about his brother though and overall, the lyrics don't say much.

All in all, I'm not really sure, now I think about it. Another one here supports SYBG. Curiously hindleysite quotes Fanning as saying it was about a stalker. --lincalinca 07:16, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
About a stalker? Woah, that sounds odd. Still, I think Since You've Been Gone is more likely (certainly makes more sense lyrically), so we should probably change to that. Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 07:31, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Powderfinger-OnMyMind-25seconds.ogg

Image:Powderfinger-OnMyMind-25seconds.ogg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
