[edit] Background

The Allnighter is well-known for the famous scene in which Susanna Hoffs slowly dances in front of a mirror in her underwear to the tune of the classic Aretha Franklin hit "Respect". The movie was meant as a vehicle for The Bangles lead singer, Susanna Hoffs, and was written and directed by her mother. Instead, as a complete bomb, this film led Hoffs to abandon pursuit of a film career.

[edit] Plot

Molly (Hoffs), Val (Pfeiffer) and Gina (Cusack) are graduating college, but on their final night, frustrations are aired. Molly is still looking for real love and Val is beginning to doubt if that is what she has found. Gina is too busy videotaping everything to really notice. When the final party at Pacifica College kicks off, things do not go exactly as planned.

[edit] Reception

This movie is infamous for being a complete box office bomb and smashing Hoffs' ambition of a film acting career. It was popularly and critically panned, receiving a 0% on the Internet review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.[1]
