Image:Stowe from Jones's Views (1819).JPG

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The south or garden front of Stowe from Jones' Views of the Seats of Noblemen and Gentlemen (1829 - name of file is incorrect). Apart from an increase in the size of some of the basement windows (which in this context means ground level, as the first floor is a piano nobile) the facade is unchanged today. All of the top floor windows in the earlier version of this front were sacrificed for the sake of architectural effect. The remaining top floor rooms all face sideways.
