"Premier League? You're Having A Laugh!" is an English Football chant. It is based on the song "Tom Hark" by The Piranhas (but originally recorded by South African group Elias and His Zig Zag Jive Flutes).
Although it can be chanted by fans of any team at their opposition it is generally done so in two circumstances:
a) When the team being chanted at in danger of being threatened with relegation from the English Premier League.
b) When the team is pushing for promotion into the Premier League from the Football League Championship but playing poorly.
An alternate (but not as popular) chant is "Champions League? You're Having A Laugh!" sung to teams who are hoping to qualify for the UEFA Champions League but are playing poorly. The variant "Thierry Henry? You're Having a Laugh!" was also used as a taunt by fans of opposition teams playing Arsenal FC whilst Henry was the main striker for the club.
Since the Premier League and Champions League have only been called by those names since September 1992 the chant must have originated around that time.
