The New York 20th congressional district election for the 111th Congress will be held on November 4, 2008. It will be incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand's first run for re-election. She defeated Republican Congressman John Sweeney in an upset in 2006.

Congresswoman Gillibrand is expected to face businessmen Morris Guller in the Democratic primary due to her support for the Iraq war supplemental funding.[1] The Democratic Primary is not expected to be close.
