Talk:List of 1950-1999 rail accidents
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Most discussions about this page probably also apply to the List of rail accidents page and probably should be placed on that Talk page. (This is just a suggestion to keep consistency across the pages. If you do have an issue that affects only this page, by all means post it here.) Rmarquet 00:21, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flags
I just chanced on this page and wonder why the flags of England and Scotland are being used instead of the United Kingdom. There are also long-running issues over whether the Ulster Banner is appropriate. In fact, why are any flags being used? I don't think it adds anything much to the article. I agree, the UK has not broken up.--86.25.53.112 (talk) 21:19, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
The same mess for other entities: East Germany disasters were marked by the East Germany flag, but disasters in USSR were marked by modern Georgia, Russia, etc. flags. Are there any rules on this topic?77.73.111.249 (talk) 23:25, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:DR-03-0078-adn.jpg
Image:DR-03-0078-adn.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] More Accidents at Ghotki
Hi, came here fact-checking a change to 1990 that mentioned a crash at Ghotki, listed here as Sangi train station near Sukkur (4 Jan). The number killed is unclear, NYT lists 'over 200', here its 307.[1] However, there's another crash not listed here - 100 dead in crash near Ghotki, 1991[2], when the Karachi to Lahore train hit a parked freight carriage. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Cajon Pass cover.jpg
The image Image:Cajon Pass cover.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
