Royal Artist Club is a mobile blogging forum initiated and powered by Nokia Corporation. The website was launched in mid 2006 to provide a platform for musicians to interact with their fans directly using their personal mobile phones.
Utilising moblogging technology (specifically the Nokia designed Lifeblog), solo artists, bands, record shops and record labels are able to take photos and create videos on their Nokia Nseries phones which are then uploaded straight to the Royal Artist Club website as well as their own self-branded, self-maintained Royal Artist Club pages.
As of September 2007 Royal Artist Club has approximately fifty acts signed up to the service including Ed Banger Records, Manowar, Plastician, Lethal Bizzle, Amon Tobin, Victoria Hart, Hot Club De Paris and Stanton Warriors.

[edit] Overview
Although the technology is similar in scope to services such as Shozu, Royal Artist Club differs in that the content is exclusively music based and therefore not generated by the general pubic but by a select number of musicians who are signed up to the service. An application form is also provided for artists who would like to sign up themselves - after the artist has submitted their application Royal Artist Club will hold it for review and, if accepted, provide them with an account and phone.
As in any blog, visitors to the website are able to access and comment on videos and pictures posted by the musicians - when clicking on an individual post the user will be redirected to that artist's own Royal Artist Club site where they can also view all archived posts.
[edit] Technical Features
[edit] Direct Posting to Web
By using (and correctly configuring) Nokia's Lifeblog application the user can post directly from their phone to the Royal Artist Club website. The user can also connect their phone to a PC and post via the Lifeblog PC application.
[edit] Royal Artist Club Badges
Each artist has a Royal Artist Club badge (widget) incorporating the RSS feed for their page. Each badge is accompanied by the full HTML markup and can be easily embedded by any Royal Artist Club visitor on to a site or blog of their choosing for immediate and easy access to blog updates.
