Talk:Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The CorenSearchBot spotted similar text to the society's own website. This similarity is, indeed, the case, but it is not a copyright violation, because it is a repeat of the society's aims within an article about that same society. And I am a member of that society, happy to answer any questions.

That is not sufficient. Also, please demonstrate rationale for inclusion. Michaelbusch 20:39, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

You say "Rationale for inclusion", suggesting rationale for including a short snippet of text from the society's own website into a page about the society. But the link points to the "Notability" page. Help me. I'm confused. Which are we talking about? The text inclusion, or the notability criterion for a new Wikipedia article? Let me know, and I'll try to help. Thanks.

Also if you are about to undertake a similar exercise for the new article about the HS in USA/Canada, the same principles will basically apply.
