[edit] Deborah Curtis

should something be added to the article about the fact that Deborah Curtis "Fucking Hated" the film? Peter Hook stated this after a screening of a documentary about the band, and it was posted in a recent myspace bulletin from the official JD myspace page.65.43.208.170 10:09, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

There is an interview with her at joydiv.org [1] and she only states that she was actually more timid and less confrontational than portrayed in the film. Also that Samantha Morton made the part her own and basically just used the book and her own experiences as a mother.

Peter Hook's comment is hearsay and was made in the context of the documentary, which is said to also have some issues because it does not include any interviews with Deborah Curtis. Hook said the documentary is the perfect "answer" to Control It can be implied former joy division members are not very happy with the movie because it might be inaccurate as to how influential Ian was in the band...If one listens to New Order and Joy Division one wonders why would they even bother.. Ian would have been noone without them

"Extramarital AFFAIRS"?!?! There was only one. I corrected that. Nightandday

The book title Touching From a Distance is a line from Transmission, not She's Lost Control 138.37.171.119 11:15, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Whoops. Just realised the film title is different (and terrible). Sorry! 138.37.171.119 11:40, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

The song Shes lost control wasnt a hint to Ians own life...its an experience he made when working with epileptic people. He got in touch with a young girl with epilpsy who dies afterwords. The songs abount this experience...

american release date anyone?

[edit] Tony Wilson

Maybe a mentioning of Tony Wilson recently passing away should be mentioned somehow? Maybe referenced from an article about his death and if it affected the post production anyhow? JanderVK

Post-production on the movie is done, so I can't see how Tony Wilson's death, while unfortunate, would warrant mention in this article, unless they did a dedication to him or something. Fullmetaljacuzzi 18:40, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

It's complete myth that Tony Wilson signed the contract in his own blood, so I edited it out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.58.109.211 (talk) 17:02, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

This is about the plot of the film, in which it occurs.--Patrick (talk) 17:55, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Plot

The plot reads terribly, with many spelling mistakes and missing grammar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.170.192.130 (talk) 22:23, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

I did some work on cleaning it up last night. But I think it's far too long and needs some serious editing. Davorg 12:35, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

"She finds Annik's telephone number and calls her. Annik confesses all."

It is not borne out by either the movie or the book that "Annik confesses all". Annik answers the phone and then the movie cuts to another scene. When Ian comes home, Deborah asks "Who's Annik Honore?" 163.156.240.17 14:06, 9 October 2007 (UTC)John Paines

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Control movie poster.jpg

Image:Control movie poster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] My changes

Since the edit summary isn't that long, I'll describe my reasons here.

First, Anton Corbijn wasn't just a "fan" of the band. Joy Division was the first band he worked with after he went to England. Working with the band boosted his career as a serious photographer. As such, he met Curtis on several occassions. In several interviews on Dutch television and on his Palm Pictures DVD he spoke about his relationship with the man.

Secondly, Corbijn directed music videos four years prior to 1988's rerelease of Atmosphere. Already he worked with U2 and Depeche Mode.

[edit] Someone should start the Annik Honoré article

She'd surely pass WP:N, but I don't have any source information at the moment about her.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 17:27, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as stub, and the rating on other projects was brought up to Stub class. BetacommandBot 06:04, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DVD release date

Was looking forward to purchasing the DVD today but it appears the US DVD release date has been pushed back to June 2008 (at least on Amazon.com). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.173.92.191 (talk) 11:13, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
