Battalion 316 (Honduras)

Battalion 316 was a Honduran army unit responsible for carrying out hundreds of political assassinations and widespread torture of suspected political opponents of the government during the 1980s. Battalion members received extensive training and support from the United States Central Intelligence Agency both in Honduras and at U.S. military bases.[1]
