All of my computers
As you may have realized by now, I like computers. I have quite a few of them, and we're going to go through them
one by one in alphabetical order. Do note that the computers on this list are the ones I currently have in use, and as such, this page
is subject to heavy change.
Chinabox
This thing is my most recently obtained computer. It's got a quite efficient Intel N95 CPU with 8 gigs of DDR4,
and not much else of note. I run a personal
Minecraft server off of it, one of my Pi-holes, and my navidrome music server, all off Ubuntu Server. I named it Chinabox because it was made in China and is a tiny box.
Graceful Green
Graceful Green—or JasperDesktop—was the first computer I ever built. It's running a Ryzen 5 7600, an RX 6800, and 32 gigs of DDR5.
It's one of the two desktops I use today. When I built it, it ran on Windows 11. Today, it runs on Kubuntu Linux. It was a tad unstable when I first built it, crashing at random quite a few times, but it has
since leveled out. Overall, it's a very nice computer.
The HP Monstrosity
I bought The HP Monstrosity off Facebook Marketplace. It's an HP Elitedesk 705 G4 MT running an AMD A10-9700 with 16 gigs of DDR4. I
replaced the PSU, SSD, and put in a GTX 1660 Super. I tried to replace the CPU but it refused to boot because it hates
me, so bad CPU for me. As a side effect of being a workstation, The HP Monstrosity refuses to boot without a keyboard plugged in.
It's now an AI server for me, and it works to serve you this very webpage. I also use it as my primary network storage. It runs on Ubuntu Server.
MacNAS
MacNAS is a 2016 MacBook with a 512GB SSD. I use it almost exclusively as a network storage device, as indicated by its name.
I used it as a laptop for a while, but the butterfly keyboard is really jarring compared to other laptop keyboards.
Eventually, a single pixel thin green vertical line appeared on the screen, and I decided it was time to bring it to a nice
farm upstate. That's when I turned it into my secondary network storage using the default MacOS SMB share feature.
MacWindows
MacWindows is a Bootcamped 2015 MacBook Pro that runs Windows 10 despite Microsoft's recommendation to just stop using the machine,
as it can't upgrade to Windows 11. It does its job as a low powered laptop whenever I need it.
Pretty Pink
Pretty Pink is my other desktop. It's rocking a 7950X, a RX 9070 XT, and 64 gigs of DDR5.
When I built this machine, the 9070 XT had just come out, and finding one at a decent price was quite difficult.
Like Graceful Green, it runs Kubuntu Linux, but used to run Windows 11. Despite the photo looking purple, it appears quite pink in person.
Raspberry Pi
Of all the computers on this list, this Raspberry Pi 3B was the first one I acquired. I got it sometime around 2016. Currently, it runs a backup PI-hole on Raspberry Pi OS.
